Math tutoring
Experience and Credentials
I tutor students in math up through Algebra 1 and Geometry. My specialty is combining math tutoring with brain science and executive function coaching. I offer both online and in-person sessions based in Eastlake, Seattle.
With over a decade of experience teaching special education in public schools and four years of private math tutoring, I find that students have the most success when math tutoring is combined with teaching brain science and executive function coaching at the same time. By having students understand how their working memory, cognitive flexibility, and self regulation impact learning, I can help them develop stronger neural pathways for long-term academic success.
I have a degree in economics from Cornell University and a teaching credential from San Jose State University.
I specialize in:
elementary, middle, high school and adults
students with ADD/ADHD
neurodiversity and students on the autism spectrum
math up through Algebra 1 and Geometry
Testimonials
“Betsy took the time to make a personal connection with our daughter and establish a thorough understanding of her strengths and areas to work on. She created a plan to strengthen key math skills while remaining flexible to cover current content from her school curriculum. Her support has increased math fluency and created a huge boost in confidence in our daughter as a math student. Her enthusiasm and relatable attitude towards learning has helped not only with math but executive functioning skills relating to studying and practicing math skills for daily use. Betsy has gone above and beyond to accommodate our schedule and fit weekly tutoring into our available time frame. We feel so lucky to have found her and look forward to continuing with her.” - Jake, parent of 7th grader
